1. RESEARCH SCIENTIST (TIMBER/CIVIL ENGINEER)
1.1 Qualifications
At least a 2-year MPhil or MSc degree in Wood Science or Civil Engineering (with specialization in Timber Engineering) from a recognized University. Research experience in Timber Engineering will be an advantage.
1.2 Duties
To undertake research into strength testing of new Lesser-Used Species (LUS) and design and building of timber structures.
2. RESEARCH SCIENTIST (WOOD SCIENTIST/WOOD PROCESSING EXPERT)
2.1 Qualifications
At least a 2-year MPhil Or MSc degree in Wood science (with specialization in sawmilling and/or panel products processing) from a recognized University. Research experience in wood processing will be an advantage.
2.2 Duties.
To conduct research into sawmilling of wood and panel products processing from both traditional and non-traditional sources and utilization of logging and sawmill residues.
3. RESEARCJ SCIENTIST (CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIST)
3.1 Qualification
At least a 2-year MPhil or MSc degree in Chemistry (with specialization in chemical technology) from a recognized University.
3.2 Duties
To undertake research into the application of organic chemistry expertise to bioactive natural products identification, processing and utilization; organic reactions and spectroscopic methods
4. RESEARCH SCIENTIST (WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT EXPERT)
4.1 Qualification
At least a 2-year MPhil or MSc degree in Wildlife Management from a recognized University. Research experience in wildlife management will be an advantage.
4.2 Duties
To conduct research into forest management effects on wildlife, population ecology, conservation biology, wildlife habitat relationship and related matters.
5. RESEARCH SCIENTIST (PLANT PHYSIOLOGIST)
5.1 Qualifications
At least a 2-year MPhil or MSc degree in Biological/Plant Sciences (with specialization in Plant Physiology) from a recognized University. Research experience in plain physiology will be an advantage.
5.2 Duties
To undertake research into plant ecology, reproductive control, basic genetics and plant carbon dioxide flux.
